Doctor says: Healthy babies

Hello!

Yesterday Kendra went to lunch with her friend, Amy, who played soccer and worked with her over the past couple of years. She said it was fun to see her again and here’s a picture with Layla from her cell phone camera:

I'm sure Layla was looking at a plate of food on the table salivating over the idea of cheese and carrots. We took Easton and Layla to their 4-month checkup with the pediatrician. I’m happy to report everything is perfect for both of them and they passed all of the tests. Sitting up, reaching up to grab a toy in front of them, drooling, and smiling. Luckily, Kendra prepared them well for the test with daily practice. Easton weighs 14 lbs. and Layla weighs 12 lbs., which is almost right on the 50 percentile range. The only bad part of the visit was the shots. I held their little hands and arms as the nurse poked each of them 4 times. They cried their eyes out for a few minutes, but were fine within 15 minutes as we made it home and Kendra fed them. The rest of the evening was spent holding them and laying around watching TV since they had a slight temperature and were given the proper dosage of children’s Tylenol. Who knows if there is even any medicine IN children’s Tylenol, but it makes us feel like we’re doing something for the babies to help. As you can see from the picture, they are semi-happy considering they were poked with needles. At least they got cool pink and blue camouflage band-aids on their thighs…

The Pediatrician said we will probably want to introduce solid food into their diet at 6 months old so we have a little while longer to keep doing what we’re doing. Easton and Layla are both still feeding from Kendra and taking a bottle. That’s extremely helpful for us being able to leave for a few hours or even over night some time without worrying about them getting enough to eat.

Have a good evening and I’ll blog you later.

Bronson,
Yeah for the healthy babies and the great, nurturing parents!!!
It's so hard to see the babies cry out in pain-we feel so helpless to take the pain away. They both look so adorable even with the band-aids on. Enjoyed talking with Kendra this afternoon.
Lova ya gobs,

Thanks Ma!

It sure was hard to watch, but at least the nurse did it quickly and it took a few seconds for them to figure out that it really hurt. They had that perplexed look for a few seconds after the first shot since they aren't used to pain or that feeling... They appear to be over the fever and back to normal already!
