Safe and cool

Howdy,

We drove safely through the night and only encountered minor issues during the trip. The twins didn't go to sleep until 9:00 PM because the sun was right in their eyes all the way up to the point where it disappeared below the horizon. Then it was sleepy time for the twins and tag-team driving for Kendra and me.

They sleep so peacefully even through the flapping noise of the stroller on top and the oncoming car lights flashing by.

Once they dozed off we didn't hear a peep from them until just before we arrived at Oma and Opa's house. We met GG at the local city park for some live music. Most of the evening was spent chasing Layla around as she weaved in and out of stranger's lawn chairs.

Easton has never been a pacifier boy, but for some reason he grabbed Layla's pacifier and sucked on it for a while. You can tell he's a rookie because it is upside down!

Oma and Opa were well prepared for the twins by having toys and this big slide ready for them to terrorize.

They climbed all over it like a couple of monkeys.

Layla knows the sign language for play and I believe this is the definition of the word in her mind.

Easton and Layla were able to experience rain and clouds yesterday as a few drops fell from the sky as they played in the back yard. It is such a rare occurrence in Arizona that they were baffled by what was happening. After a while they got the idea of clouds and rain, but I don't think really appreciated it.

Last night Kendra and I went out for date night while leaving Oma and Opa in charge of bed time. We found a half-priced sushi spot and then did some shopping for clothes. I'm trying to replace some of the 10 year-old collered shirts in my closet. I need something to wear to work that doesn't look like I time warped from the 90's.

See you soon!
